pH pen 850051
Hi -
I'm trying to figure out how to use this pH pen to adjust multiple water samples in the same session. Is there some additional procedure I need to employ when using pH up and pH down to adjust the pH on, let's say, a dozen samples?
As it stands, I've been recalibrating the pen when I begin a project, then basically shaking excess water from the probe as I test the different containers of water. What about cross contamination between samples? At times, I've poured a little distilled water across the probe, between tests.
Also I've noticed that the pen readings take a few minutes to stop slowly rising or falling, as I make adjustments. May I assume the reading should be most accurate when the gauge stops changing?
What I'm trying to accomplish is the ability to pH the water I use on my house plants to no more than 7, and then I hope to adjust that in-going water so that the run-off (thru the soil) from same stays in the 6.3/6.8 range, with 6.5 ideal.
All/any advice appreciated.
